Error Number 462

We recently upgraded a Sage 100 client from 2014 to 2016. Prior to the upgrade, we exported all Sage Intelligence reports from the 2014 version and imported them in to the new version after the upgrade was complete. Now when the client is running out the reports, Excel becomes unresponsive and produces Error Number 462, Description: The remote server machine does not exist or is unavailable, Source: BICore. See attached image file. Client is using Excel 2016 and I installed the Excel 2016 Compatibility Pack.

Hey Lorrie,

have you tried repairing your excel?

i have found a few articles that can help you with this issue.

i did notice that when i was using office 365 i experienced the same error on my end, i had to reinstall office to resolve my error

For what it is worth I am having the exact same issue!!! (2014 to 2016...Sage 100 ERP Intelligence Reporting...Error 462)

Sage Support recommended that I post to Sage City and for the most part have come up empty. I currently have the client making sure VSTO 2010 is installed...we will see if that helps (http://sagecity.na.sage.com/support_communities/sage100_erp/f/93/t/100110).

Hopefully someone (or Sage) finds the root of the issue and fixes it.

I still have no resolution after my client has made several calls to Sage support. Please let me know if you find a resolution and I will do the same.

We have tried reinstalling Excel and it did not resolve our issue.

After the case was escalated to Sage support in South Africa, we obtained a resolution. Please see resolution below:

The problem seems to be with version 16.0.9xxxxxx of office. Reports with macros run fine with V16.07xxxxxx .

Please can you confirm that the customer is on V16.0.9xxxxxx. If they are, you can try the following solution:

- Disable office updates

- Open Command prompt

- Run the following command: cd %programfiles%\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\ClickToRun
- Run the following command: officec2rclient.exe /update user updatetoversion=16.0.7167.2060

This will roll back office to v16.0.7xxx.xxxx

This resolution worked for my client. Hope it helps you too!
