Sage CRM 2023 R1: UI Improvements - Sage branding uplift and accessibility improvements.

1 minute read time.

A year ago, at the end of April 2022, Sage unveiled a new Branding aimed at representing the valuable insights and experiences that customers can expect from the trusted network for Small and Mid-Size Businesses (SMBs). We started the rebranding process for CRM with the introduction of a minimal refresh in Sage CRM 2022 R2. Sage CRM 2023 R1 has just about completed that journey to the brand (there are still a few things to do) but this version has seen a major refresh of the user interface which reflects Sage's brand purpose.

"We build every experience with human insight and ingenuity; giving people building business the confidence to flow."

In Sage CRM 2022 R2 when we started the rebranding exercise, one of the most noticeable visual changes is the use of colour in the interface. The primary colour palette for all Sage products now includes vivid green, black, and white.

In Sage CRM 2023 R1 in addition to the colour palette changes we have added new icon sets and chart colours.

These are some of the elements that we have reviewed during the development of Sage CRM 2023 R1:

We have been reviewing headings and menu options to ensure where possible they are clear and concise. We have changed several captions and tried to make sure that labels help structure the content on each page in a logical order. We have added more IDs into the HTML of the screen elements to help screen readers navigate the pages.

We have tried to make sure the colour contrast between text and background is sufficient and we have changed messaging to avoid using colour alone to convey important information.

We have made changes to our style sheets to ensure users can resize or zoom the screen to accommodate varying levels of visual impairment.

Please note: The rebranding exercise for Sage CRM 2023 R1 has not included the mobile interface, as we are currently reviewing ways to enhance the usability and design of the mobile theme as part of our product roadmap.
