The Product Configuration screen in Sage CRM 2021 R2 has been updated with an option to use Quote/Order Format when creating Word and PDF quotes.

• Use Quote Format for Merge document name
• Use Order Format for Merge document name

Customers had reported that they didn't like the naming pattern that Sage CRM 2021 R1 and earlier had used for merged files. e.g. "Panoply Sales Quote58554015.pdf"

Although the name of the template used was clear the trailing number didn't provide information. This could confuse a user because the name of a quote sent as an email attachment did not relate to the Quote number.

Sage CRM 2021 R2 now allows System Administrators to be able to control the pattern and follow the quote and order id within the product configuration area. e.g. Quote Format: QT-#O/#N

The PDFs and Word docs that are created by the merge will use that format when naming (but any troublesome non-standard characters will be removed, for example .)

The name of the Template used for a merge is part of the name of the file.

If the quote (or order) is reissued and a new merge is created then the file name will increment.

E.g.

Print Quote Template-QT-107 1
Print Quote Template-QT-107 1 1
Print Quote Template-QT-107 1 2

If the user selects several quotes for inclusion in the pdf, then the quote format will not be used.
Instead, the merge should use the default option of the random number e.g. Print Quote Template5979187.pdf
