Sage CRM 2021 R1: Integration with G Suite/ Google Workspace

Sage CRM 2021 R1 can be used with G Suite/ Google Workspace integration.

You can set up the internal Sage CRM client and the Advanced Email Manager to use Google's OAuth 2.

Outlook for Microsoft 365 can be configured to work with Google Workspace accounts.

Google Workspace Sync for Microsoft Outlook (GWSMO) synchronizes a Google account with Outlook. This synchronizes information within Google Workspace (Gmail and Google Drive etc) with Outlook on any device where you use your Google Account. A user can then open Outlook and use it to manage most of their data.

Google acknowledges that some features in Outlook aren't available, or might not work as you would expect when using Outlook with GWSMO. 

Note: Classic Outlook Integration files emails, and synchronizes contacts, appointments, and tasks between Sage CRM and Microsoft Outlook. The Sage CRM Classic Outlook Integration is only tested on email accounts running on Microsoft Exchange Server. But with Google Workspace Sync for Microsoft Outlook installed and configured elements of the Classic Outlook Integration should be available. 

About Classic Outlook Integration

The Outlook Plugin installation changed in Sage CRM 2020 R1. In previous versions, the installation of both the classic and lite Outlook plugins was handled using ActiveX. This dependency on ActiveX had required our customers to use Internet Explorer to use install the Outlook plugin. Since Sage CRM 2020 R1, the installation can be carried out by users of any browser.

Note: The Sage CRM Outlook plugin still has a dependency on ActiveX and IE11 for certain operations, but this is for background tasks. The user can continue to use Chrome or their browser of choice as their user interface with Sage CRM.
