Sage CRM 2020 R1:Changes to Plugin Installation (Part 3 of 4)

This is the third article in a short series that will look at how Outlook Plugin installation has changed in Sage CRM 2020 R1.

The Trusted Sites list allows you to provide easier access to certain Web sites while maintaining higher security when using other sites.

A user experiences Sage CRM as a website - and if the user needs to install the Outlook Integration then the browser will warn the user, and prompt them for permission. The Sage CRM server should be trusted and the user won't want to be warned or asked for permission when they login and move about the Sage CRM screens, so a System Administrator can add Sage CRM to the Trusted Sites list on the computer.

The Sage CRM server address can be added to the client machine's trusted websites, so that Windows Defender SmartScreen doesn’t block downloaded Outlook plugin installer (.msi) files:

In Control Panel,

open Internet Options.

On the Security tab,

click Trusted sites,

and then click Sites.

Enter the HTTP address of your Sage CRM server

Be aware whether your site is running under SSL.

Add the address of your Sage CRM server and click Add.

Click Close and then click OK.
