ALERT: Intrastat changes for January / February 2022

From 1 January 2022 the European Community is enforcing changes to the way European companies must report their intra-European transactions. The scope of data to be reported in connection with the export of goods to another EU Member State will also be extended. In addition to the existing items (combined nomenclature of goods, invoice value, own weight, quantity in additional unit of measurement and codes for mode of transport, group of delivery conditions, country of origin, nature of the transaction and others), reporting units will have to report data on the country of origin of the exported goods and the tax identification or equivalent number assigned for VAT purposes to the partner entity in the EU Member State to which the goods will be exported. These changes are planned to come into effect for 2022 reporting — Starting with the Intrastat reporting to be submitted in February 2022 for transactions made in January 2022.
