Welcome back to the latest instalment of the Finance Round-Up!
We have put together the usual list of new Knowledgebase articles, blogs and videos. However, given the volume of MTD specific content and news, we will be using this edition to focus on some of these key aspects.
NEWS AND ALERTS
We will start with the alert posted earlier this week whereby the HMRC VAT MTD service was unavailable for approximately 5 hours. HMRC were swift to act and investigate this issue immediately. The service was back up later the same day, which fortunately meant the impact to our customers was minimal.
We will always endeavour to bring you any updates of when the HMRC MTD services are being impacted but as mentioned in our previous instalment of the Finance Round-Up, you can check the status here: https://api-platform-status.production.tax.service.gov.uk/. We would also recommend hitting the subscribe button to receive these notifications directly.
In other more significant news from HMRC, as some of you may already be aware, they are planning on making some changes that will improve fraud prevention. Specific details on how this will impact you will be officially communicated in the coming weeks. We would however like to take this opportunity to remind everyone of the Product Lifecycle Policy and the importance of being compliant. Latest Finance KBs
- KB109753 - Spanish VAT declaration excluding some invoices
- KB110406 - Missing the French VAT Declaration function DCLVATFRA since 2020 R4 (V12 P24)
- KB110408 - Reminder Letters not including all outstanding invoices
- KB110412 - Error "Open item being paid XXXXXX"
- KB110452 - Fixed Assets "Undo" screen row limit
- KB110451 - Error "VATFRMENTD [VFED] No Current Records"
- KB110449 - Error “Warning! Connection in progress, please wait” - When trying to create a VAT return
The list of KBs includes a couple of legislation specific VAT issues but we also came across a bug on a new implementation, details can be found on KB110449. The fix to prevent this affecting future implementations is expected to be delivered in the coming months. During our investigation of this case, we found there was an issue with the Last Calls not returning the expected information and instead returning the user to the Sage X3 Login page. This was caused by Mongo DB being reset from the URL.
