When making an adjustment through the vat return, are supporting documents required to be sent along with the submission directly to HMRC?

Hi Susan,

Currently HMRC do not require exact details for adjustments made on the VAT Return when submitted through Accounting. At the moment, when you submit your VAT Return, it just sends through the figures that are within the 9 boxes on screen.

It may be down the line, HMRC will introduce legislation that will require submission of exactly what has been included in the VAT Return.
