Is there any indication of likely release date for v28 for tax year 2022/23?
Would be handy to be able to crack on with the P11ds as soon as possible.
Many thanks.
Hi Paul,
Thanks for using Sage City.
The new release of P11D is in production, but there isn't a confirmed release date yet.
However, if you want to start processing, you can enter 2022/23 benefits information now in v27. If you enter details in v27 and date them correctly for the new year, you can then take a backup of your v27 data ready to set up your 22/23 benefits in v28.
When v28 becomes available, you can install it on your computer then restore your v27 backup in. You can then click the recalculate benefits option in v28. At that point v28 calculates the 22/23 benefits using the new legislation.

I agree Paul it would be nice to crack on with it but every year we have to wait despite being invoiced and chased for payment in January!
Couldn't agree more. It would be more ethical if they didn't bill until after it was ready.
Hi,
We're expecting to release P11D v28 in mid May 2023. In the mean time, you can process your employees' 2022/2023 benefits in the existing version of Sage P11D, that's v27.
Then when v28 becomes available you can install this, move your data over and easily recalculate the benefits. We've written a handy guide that explains this process in full, to visit this please click here >

Do you feel that it is acceptable to take money of us in January for a product that won't be available until mid May? 6th July is the deadline and it is being squeezed .....
It has been like this for years and is very frustrating especially when up against the 6th July deadline and having your 'day job' to do as well. I am usually on here moaning about it every year, but nothing changes so this is the last year we will be using sage, we have sourced another payroll product that also includes the P11D processing
Hi,
The P11D product release in May helps us to deliver a smooth payroll year end in our payroll software, and also to ensure any late legislation changes can be implemented into the software before it's release.
The release of the product through to the submission deadline allows plenty of time for you to process your benefits ready to submit, with the added opportunity to process early in v27 if you'd prefer to start earlier.
For the product invoicing, as this software is generally only used once a year it's available on an annual renewal rather than as part of a subscription at the moment.

Hi John
Sorry but how do you know that from the release of the product through to the submission deadline we have plenty of time to process our benefits, you have no idea of our work load.
Hi Sarah,
I appreciate your feedback there, I'll pass the feedback on to our development team regarding the release timing. We'll also send you a direct message regarding this.

It seems to get later every year, only leaving practically 1 month to process the information correctly is madness anyway, let alone the fact that is now end of May before we get the update. Im a stand alone payroller so no one else can process this information for me, and you presume your leaving me enough time when you have no idea of people's work load ! it's very dissapointing indeed!
Exactly! this is a very good queston !
Adding the information on to v27 is a bit of a cop out, while we have no choice it's not very helpful as it wont give the correct P11d value to reconile to. I honestly don't undertand why you release the update so late !
Hi Kerrie,
Thanks for using Sage City, and thanks for the feedback.
I'm sorry the timings of P11D release are disappointing, I'm collating the feedback from this thread and passing it through to the P11D product team. thanks again for taking the time to feedback.

This has been raised through different channels, but Sage do not appear to take this very seriously. After all, they have our money and it is of no concern to them if we find the delay stressful. Recommending we use an old version and then copy the data across is not a runner. I am surprised that they even recommended it. I will not be paying for the next release until it is, in fact, released!
