"Archive" doesn't support any attachments, so they aren't copied over when you run an archive.

This was to avoid your backup being double the size.

The document links will remain in your live data on those original transactions.

Thank you.  I have submitted the idea.

The Autoentry attachment is an external URL.  I would have thought that overhead for this would be minimal in terms of archive/backup size.

I appreciate that a locally copied attachment would inflate file sizes.

Sadly (from memory) we treat them the same in the code, so can't easily differentiate between an attachment and a document link attachment, so instead we just hide the "view icon" in the archive.

Something we can certainly improve, looking back at the documentation from 2019 when we made these changes, we ran out of time for areas like archive, clear audit trail, Customer Activity, Nominal, Projects, and Transactions ledger so had to descope them.

I believe the External Link is exposed to SDO if you have a third-party app that can view them as we don't clear the transaction data.
