Sage & GoCardless - Allow a change to a payment pending submission.

Sent to GoCarless :- had a situation recently where I was trying to find out how to edit a payment request that was "pending submission". I was told that the only thing I could do was to cancel the payment request. If that's the case what is the EDIT button to the left of the cancel button for? If we have submitted the direct debit and then issue a credit note it would seem reasonable to either be able to refresh from Sage or edit the requested figure on the dashboard. If not is there a refund facility via direct debit? We are new to GoCardless and like the product but can see that this could annoy clients. If not sorted we are in danger of them cancelling the mandate and going back to other methods of payment.
Reply from GoCArdless :- Once a payment has been created on the dashboard (either via Sage or directly on the dashboard) it cannot be updated. Instead, if you wanted to update the amount, you would need to cancel the existing payment and create a new one.
You can cancel any payment that is in the pending submission stage. Once it has been submitted to the bank, we are no longer able to cancel it. Payments are submitted at 4pm, 2 working days before the charge date as outlined here
The edit button is available if you would like to add any metadata to the payment. This can be useful when exporting the data and reporting.
I was later told that it was up to Sage to "develop" the facility I want.  Over to you Sage!!!!
