The default is to set the exclude transaction to the start and end of the current calendar month.  So at the start of every month when importing bank feeds, I have to amend the before date back into the previous month to pick up transactions from the end of the previous month.  It would be better to just have this as a range +/- calculated from the current date.  It is just friendlier for the user to do this.
