I have tried to file a return today but get the following error message: "An error has occurred when communicating with the submission service. The 'organisations/vat' API is currently unavailable"

I have seen this before on other posts and assume it will be a problem at HMRC's end?  Has anyone else had problems today?  What is the most efficient way of communicating this to HMRC without spending hours on the phone?
