I'd recommend adding it to the Ideas Board for Sage 50 Accounts. The software developers review the board regularly. You can also vote for other customer's ideas if you'd like to see them included in the software.

The favourite layouts are stored within your Windows user profile, much like favourites in your web browser. And like any other user setting these will be lost if you switch to a new PC or your user profile becomes corrupted.

We do not currently have an option to backup/restore favourite layouts (worth logging an item on the wish list for this as Andy Rickeard suggests), however as they are part of your Windows user profile they could be transferred through 'standard' mechanisms if you wish to move them to another PC e.g. https://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/37573.how-to-migrate-windows-user-profiles-to-a-new-account-a-new-pc-or-new-domain.aspx 

For corruption of your Windows user profile hopefully this would be a very rare occurrence, but I would recommend having a robust backup system in place for your whole user profile (and any other important files) so you could easily restore any data from your user profile in the event of a problem.
