Problem signing on

SUGGESTED

Hello People. I am new to sage, literally joined today. I am supposed to download the software but I cannot even sign in. I go to sage.co.uk, click on "sign in" and get a page saying "Error 504 - Gateway time-out" Other times if I do get through I get all sorts of error messages in a variety I couldn't make up if I tried. I have never seen a website be so inaccessible in my life. It makes Sage seem to me extremely unprofessional so far. Just a few screenshots:

    Hi Roland,

    Thanks for using Sage City.

The screen shots you’ve provided contain a mixture of Sage Business Cloud and Sage 50cloud Accounts sites. Is it Sage Business Cloud or Sage 50cloud Accounts that you’re using?

To help with these issue try clearing Cache, Cookies and History on your web browser, then try the sites again. You can also try using a different web browser.

Hi Paul. Thanks for the reply. I would need Sage 50 cloud accounts, but if I could get access I would be happy with just about anything, it is amazing that nothing at all works on any of the Sage websites. I have amassed over 10 error pages in my attempts to simply access My Account or a download page to start a trial to practice for my AAT test in Sage, which is in 2 days' time. Please see the attached photos and try to imagine my annoyance and frustration. I clear my cache, history, etc. routinely several times a day and I used 3 different browsers trying to get access to anything at all. I find the variety of error pages Sage employs breathtaking, I wish that technological ingenuity were used to make the sites accessible and usable. I am open to suggestions. Thank you.

Hi Paul, yes, about two of the screenshots would suggest that, however most of the Sage pages simply fail to load without me being logged in, other pages are messages saying that the login pages themselves fail to load, or saying the server is down, or that that page simply doesn't exist. The whole Sage website network seems to be a mess.

I notice the phone number you provided is also an outdated old-fashioned 0845 number. Do you have a proper local rate 0345 number, perhaps an 0800 or other free number for your paying customers? I know it's a good idea to create technical difficulties for millions of customers and then cash in by using a pence-per-minute phone number that has an automated voice on the company's end wasting time explaining possible choices and the menu system. But in 2019 maybe that's not the most advanced strategy. Perhaps trying to keep customers happy with free customer service could be an idea. Just a suggestion, nearly all companies in the UK already have free customer service. I am surprised to see Sage don't considering the price of their software.

Sorry about the rant, seeing a 0845 number in times of trouble sure rubs salt into the woulds of annoyed customers and makes the company seem even more unprofessional than a (perhaps temporarily) broken website. I would not be surprised to find them choosing to download Sage software from file-sharing websites instead, or simply using a different company altogether with stable website and free customer service. I do appreciate you being here though. As for my issues, I have seen enough to never want to have to deal with Sage again.

I have just tried logging in and it works without any difficulty.

www.sage.co.uk then click on the Sign In link on the top right of the page.

Then input your registered email address and password.

    Voila'!

I notice that you have a variety of different address links in your address bar (including salesforce), but mine remains mostly sage.com and once signed in it has https://my.sage.co.uk/dashboard.aspx

    Dear Roland

I think you meant to write “Can anybody please perhaps give me another telephone number please? Thank you so much”.

    Try 0191 294 3000.  I think that works too.

Thank you. But No. You should not need to make phone calls just to log in. And another phone call to have "pending link requests" authorised. And another phone call to access the download page. And you will notice that the same and other similar issues persisted one not just the UK but the US and other websites.

Thanks for the phone number though, now I could log in. But guess what. For some mysterious reason I wasn't able to register my product, with the serial number I got from Sage themselves. Ridiculous. But what did I expect?

So should I make another call? And another when the software does not perform as it should? Would it be reasonable to believe that it will? Shouldn't all this be simple and straightforward?

Thanks for all the help though.
