Transfer SA2009 Pro from Windows XP to my laptop Windows Vista

I been trying unsuccessfully to install SA2009 from my PC (XP) to my laptop (Vista). I can open up the sample company on my laptop. When I try to open my company either from file or back-up I get the following message.

" This data has been updated to a new file format and is now incompatible with this version of the software. Once you upgarde data to a newer version, it works with the new version only "

Any & all info is greatly appreicated . . . is the above message with reference to my simply database data or XP to Vista ? or . . . .

Hi there: The version you have on the backup from your PC (XP) probably has several upgrades that have been downloaded since the original installation of 2009. Your laptop will have to have the most recent upgrade downloaded onto it as well before the backup will open. So if your PC had Simply 2009, Release D (for instance), you need to make sure that the installation in your laptop is also Simply 2009, Release D. (Not sure what the release letter would actually be, but you get the idea.) Rita Deering
