How do I process a temporary layoff and print ROE's? Employees will be returning at some time.
The same way you would process a permanent termination. You just select the correct code for the reason for the ROE, lay off due to lack of work or such.
For my employees that are on a temporary leave like this I leave them as active employees. When the return I delete the date of termination and the ROE code from their profile. I make a note of the date they returned in the memo section so that if I have to process another ROE for that employee I have that information handy.
Oh, IOW, can you print an ROE even though you leave them as active?
The only thing you need to do is to put in a termination date and a ROE code. Then you can use the export ROE feature in Sage to complete the ROEs
DDCDance,
In case you're wondering that the ROE Code for lack of work due to Covid-19 is, one of our Accountant partners shared:

Has anyone encountered the situation where the employees want to leave their vacation pay at the time of layoff during our current world situation? How do you complete the ROE without including the vacation bank amount?
RM Cook
When you complete the ROE there are options for vacation, paid because no longer working, paid with each cheque or not paid. Simply select not paid if you haven't paid out the vacation accrual.
