Transferring Data from Simply Accounting 2008

We are replacing our Simply Accounting 2008 with Sage 50 2017. How can we transfer the data from SA2008? We tried doing a backup from SA2008 and restoring it in Sage 50 2017, but that doesn't seem to work. Any ideas?

Good Morning

In order to convert your data from Simply 2008 directly to Sage 2017, you will first need to install the Sage 2015 product in order to get the correct components installed for the conversion to go through. You can get the 2015 install files from the following link
support.na.sage.com/.../viewdocument.do

You can also get more information on converting to the latest product of Sage from older version from the following link
