Import Export of Price List

SUGGESTED

Hello - I have a client who currently uses Sage 50 Quantum. He wants to quickly adjust his inventory prices so I had suggested he export his Price List, make the adjustments there and then import the amended copy. When we try to import we get this error message

:

How do I figure out what why I am having a file version mismatch. We've tried exporting directly to an Excel spreadsheet and we've tried exporting a .csv file first. After testing and adjusting only a few line item prices we tried to import and both times we get the above message. I confess I am not very "techy" so any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

May I ask if there is some reason the internal price adjustment module does not work?  You can get to it on the Maintenance menu as one method.

Without knowing exactly how you edited in Excel and which method of export (File, Save As) and what the first line in your file actually indicates, it's hard to say how it went wrong.  I always use the CSV (Comma delimited) (*.csv) format (right above *.prn).  It may not be perfect but I edit in Notepad if necessary (sometimes double quotes in the descriptions can throw everything out of line).

If the one you exported and the new file you created don't have the same format, it may not import.
