Trying to Restore my SAGE info from my PC to Parallels on my MAC

My husband just bought me a MAC, which I hate..he also purchased Parallels so I can run my windows programs on my MAC.... So i installed my SAGE no problem at all.... then backed up my company info on Sage to a flash drive and plugged it into my MAC..... I go through the steps to restore the info on my SAGE but at the end something pops up saying

Cannot open company file

A required data file is missing. Check your data directory to be sure the files are there

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?! I refuse to pay sage $500 to answer this for me

Try saving your CAB file from your USB onto the desktop or a document folder and then restoring from that. If that doesn't work then I would suggest you redo your backup again, then save onto desktop or document folder again and try to restore.

    Hi Candicesm,

For you information, Sage does not support Sage 50 Accounting—Canadian Edition on a Mac, including use with emulator software such as Parallels Desktop or Wine. However, we do have some customers that have had success using Parallels. Customers using Sage 50 Accounting on a Mac assume all related risks. For Mac users, Sage now offers Sage One, a cloud-based solution that works for Mac users and PC users alike.

Note: Sage has not done extensive testing of Sage 50 Accounting in such operating environments and is unable to support these environments at this time or provide any warranties in connection with such use. However, we will continue to evaluate this as part of our ongoing planning.

Please make sure you have both the .sai file and .saj folder of your data file together in the same directory after restore.

Also, please make sure you use a directory like c:\sage 50 data...... (the name is up to you) but not the shared folder starting with \\.psf as the is a shared folder for virtual machine.

    Hope this helps.
