In general, yes.

If you had to restore and convert an older backup after uninstalling, you might have to reinstall, but those older versions are not needed to run the latest version. 

Before you do the big cleanup, note that the folder c:\Sage will probably have the installation folders for all the previous years.  It may be a good idea to back those up, and back up the original downloads in any case, and especially before uninstalling
