Export Data from Sage 50

Does Data export work different in Canadian and US versions of Sage 50?

In doing a help inquiry from Sage, I get a process that describes a menu choice that doesn't work in our version.

The help file  states:

"From the File menu, choose Select Import/Export. Sage 50 displays the Select Import/Export window"

There is no such option to select.

What I want to do is extract a CSV of the general ledger transactions with all the pertinent information for every transaction including department codes that I can import into Excel and run pivot tables to do provide cleaner reports than are in the default Sage reports.

Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi Kevin:

The two Sage 50 products are very different. Sage 50 CDN is the old Simply Accounting and Sage 50 US is the old Peachtree program. These each operate on different databases.

With Sage 50 CDN the only export facilities we have would be to download the Accounts, Customers, Vendors, and Employees Ledgers. None of these include the transactions. For reporting there is a product, XLGL which is designed using Excel and can access all data that is in the Sage 50 database. If you search on XLGL you will find the company based in Montreal. I think their name is Logicim
