    Hi  ,

Thanks for reaching out. Data files from Simply Accounting 2008 to Sage 50 2013 can directly convert to Sage 50 Canada 2024, as long the PC has Sage 50 2014 or Sage 50 2015 (bridge) installed on the PC. No need to pre-convert the file to 2015 - just open the file in the latest version of Sage 50.

Please provide a screenshot of the error if possible though, here's a blog with Top tips for resolving Sage 50 CA Connection Manager Issues. Hope this helps!

    Warm Regards,
    Erzsi

See the image below.  I just tested what you indicated with a Simply 2008 file and received the below message.

What you indicated was correct a few versions back but that simplicity was removed a couple of versions ago.

    Gregory,

You will have to provide more information on the steps you took to get the error and what the error message is for anyone to be able to help.  Right now I can only suggest checking out the firewall settings to make sure they allow the program through properly.  If you are using a non-standard anti-virus/firewall, Sage 50 may not be able to change the settings properly to allow it through.  I've seen Norton, Avast, Eset, etc. all cause problems until their firewalls are corrected.

What would i have to fo to correct my eset configuration?

I don't know but I also don't know if that is your problem.  Try disabling it temporarily and see if it allows the program to run before you do anything to change settings.  Then talk with your IT person who set it up if it is the problem.

I have been having the same issue whenever I have an update. I have not installed the current update for fear that it will happen again.

Every time there is an update, the system admin computer has to open each file before any other users can open the file. We have tried multiple ways, but nothing seems to work. We are currently using age 50 Premium version 2024. It is a very time consuming process because we have almost 100 companies we do books for.

I am sorry but you have not given us much to work with.  You are posting on an a two month old thread and indicated you have the same problem but you have not identified exactly what your problem is.

Every time there is an update, the system admin computer has to open each file before any other users can open the file.

This is a hassle but it is not a problem with the program.  It is how the program operates.  Each individual company needs to be opened and updated by the sysadmin of each company.

We have tried multiple ways, but nothing seems to work.

Multiple ways to do what exactly?

If your issue is a Connection Manager problem when you install updates, have you reviewed the ideas above and looked at your fire wall and antivirus software settings?  Have you reviewed the Knowledgebase articles on the subject?
