Stat holiday for employees calculations

SOLVED

How do I input hours on stat day for employees that did not work the actual stat day?

for example - one employee worked xmas day and New Year’s Day

another employee worked Boxing Day

the other employees did not work the stat days but I know they still get paid a portion % of 4 weeks previous gross pay?

    Hi  ,

Thanks for reaching out. For employees who didn't work on a statutory holiday but are entitled to a percentage of their previous gross earnings, you'll want to manually calculate this amount based on your company's policy and the employment standards in your region.

In Sage Payroll, you can input these hours as a manual adjustment to each employee's pay. If your policy is to pay a percentage of the last 4 weeks' gross pay, you would calculate this amount outside of Sage and then input it as a line item in the employee's paycheque for the stat holiday.

Remember, this process can vary based on local labor laws, so please refer to those when calculating holiday pay. If you need step-by-step guidance, you can check the Sage HR articles on public holidays and year-end preparation for general instructions on handling statutory holidays in the system.

If you require further assistance or have any more questions, please let us know.

    Warm Regards,
    Erzsi
