In the United States, legislation has been passed – H.R. 6201 "Families First Coronavirus Response Act" – to provide emergency supplemental appropriations and support to people during the COVID-19 pandemic. To read the full bill click here.

The CARES act has also been passed - to provide emergency assistance and health care for individuals, families, and businesses affected by the 2020 coronavirus pandemic. To read the full bill click here.

The Government of Canada also announced a new set of economic measures to help stabilize the economy and support Canadian workers and businesses. This includes the CRA not sending any Requirements to Pay (RTP) to employers and a Temporary Wage Subsidy for Employers. To read the full Economic Response Plan click here.

  • Since my company was shut down by government mandate, it appears as though we have less than two weeks to get this solution. I don't get alerts coming through the announcements forum so will Sage be emailing updates to customers?

    I don't envy the programmers having to push this out so quickly especially with different tax criteria for different size companies, but we need it in order to comply with what is now law. Thank you.
