Print server issues

Print server going down is an issue that occurs randomly or when there is a conflict with the component and the console. 

When this occurs, the following list is a great place to start in the resolving of the concern. 

  1. Check the destinations and ensure that everything is correctly set.
  2. Check that the user rights for the services are correct and that they have admin rights.
  3. Re-configure the console.
  4. Re-install the current version of the print server.
  5. Install a newer version of the print server (for that patch level).
  6. Create a stand-alone print server and ensure that the ADXadmin and the runtimes are installed.
  7. Install all new components and patch to a newer patch version. (This might have occurred with the previous patch up and may be corrected with the new install).
  8. Lastly, on v12p29 you can create multiple print servers, create multiple servers, and check which is running better or use all. (Need to ensure Runtime and ADXadmin are installed on the servers).
