Maternity Leave - Wages Payroll ( with cut-off dates)

Good day,

I have an employee that went on Maternity leave since 01/03/2023. Because she is a wage earner, we have a cut-off to process the wages, therefore 7 days are currently paid for Feb 2023 in their March 2023 payroll period.

I'm now unsure how to process the maternity leave from 01/03/2023 with regards to the MS screen. If i use option 1 of NOPAY for the next 4 months, then it cancels everything out? Do I use then partial pay, although it is aimed at FEB pay dates?

Your advice will be appreciated.

Hope you are well.

When an employee will receive payment when on maternity, you can use partial when setting up the maternity definition for the MS screen.

Capture the UIF status as maternity and capture the end and the start date.

Unlink the employee from the linked method of calculations (if necessary).

Hi Bonisiwe,

Thank you for your reply. The employee will not receive payment whilst on maternity, it is only due to the wages cut-off date. Therefore the wages due for the last 7 days in February, is typically paid in March.

I agree, I will treat March as "partial paid", then treat the other 3 months as "NOPAY".
