The new Tax File (Version 202205) for Rwanda effective 1 November 2022 is now available on the Software Downloads page and Sage Portal.
The Rwanda Income Tax Law No. 027 of 2022 includes the following changes that will impact on your payroll (ARTICLE 56):

Casual Employees
The income of a casual employee is subject to tax at the rate of 15%. However, income not exceeding RWF60 000 per month is taxed at 0%.

Take note: The Additional Information includes important steps to follow before you install the new tax tables.
Before installing the software, take note of the following:
- Your payroll software must be on Release 5.9a
- Your payroll company should be in a new pay period before installing the new tax tables
- Employees will need to be transferred to a new company without YTD totals, before installing the new tax file. Please review the Additional Information document for details on the process.
- Always make a Full System Backup before installing new tax files to your system folder

- Click on the Download button next to Rwanda Tax changes for Premier: R59a (November 2022 - Tax File Version 202205)
- Review the Additional Information document, before installing the new tax file
- Follow the installation instructions to complete install
Take note: The tax file only include changes for 2022. A new tax file will be made available in 2023.
