Medical Aid Contribution increases for 2020 - ensure your rates are correct!

Medical aids have published their increased member contribution rates for the 2020 year.  

When your payroll companies have been updated to January 2020, ensure that the medical aid contributions and Methods of Calculation have been amended to the new rates.

Take note, if your contributions are based on Methods of Calculation to calculate the monthly contributions, please ensure to book your consultation early in January 2020 to assist with your system changes.

    Can I create a payslip for a retired employee whom the vcompany pays the medical aid for?

    Hi Monde,

    Usually a payslip will reflect the earnings and deductions of an employee, as well as a net salary. For a retired employee, where the company contributes the full amount toward the medical aid contribution, there will be no earnings or deductions.

    The only way to provide an employee with a payslip, where the employee has no earnings or deductions, is using the Report Writer payslip (Payslip Print option). The following changes will need to be done, as the solution will 

    • Transfer all retired employees in their own company
    • You will need to decide what should reflect on the payslip, since there will be no earnings or deductions, and no net salary - the only option would be to add additional information.
    • Change the Global Selection to print for employees where Medical Aid CC > 0
