Release 5.2a is now available on the Customer Zone for all users of the Sage 200c VIP, VIP Premier and VIP Classic systems.
The main features included are:
- RSA 2019-2020 Budget changes
- Changes to IRP5 validation for the 2018-2019 tax year
- Tax and Report changes for Other African Countries
E-mail notifications will be sent out to clients during the next week.
A few important Q&A's before you install Release 5.2a .
When must Release 5.2a be installed?
- All users must install Release 5.2a in March.
- The update must be installed before final payments for March have been made as tax will recalculate.
- This is a compulsory update for all users.
- RSA users must also install the update in their Tax Year-end directories before creating their IRP5 submission files.
On what Release must I be before installing the new software?
- You must be on Release 5.1a.
Can Premier HR or Premier ESS users install Release 5.2a
- All Premier HR and Premier Employee Self Service users must also update their Premier HR (v19.3.0.1) and Premier ESS (v9.1) systems respectively, to ensure smooth integration with Premier Payroll Release 5.2a/Sage 200c VIP. The update software for these systems is now available for download from the website.
- The updates for Premier Payroll/Sage 200c VIP Payroll, Premier HR and Premier ESS systems must be loaded consecutively

How do I know if the software has been installed successfully?
- On the Main VIP Menu, the Release Number displayed at the top of the screen, will be Sage 200c VIP or Premier or Classic 5.2a.
I have processed and paid my previous weeks wages on the old tax tables, what will happen?
- It is important to be in a new processing week where you have not paid the employees, before installing the update
- The update will backdate the tax calculations to the 1st week of the tax year, and any differences will affect the current week's payroll
