Zambia PAYE2021

SUGGESTED

Good day,

I was told by my Zambia office that the new PAYE tables are available. Is there any update from VIP available so that I can update my system, I have bi-weekly employees getting paid next week and need the new tables asap. Also, has the NAPSA ceiling amount been adjusted as yet?

thanks !

    Good day Madeleine

Please take note of the following:

As from 1 January 2021, the new NAPSA earnings ceiling is K23 188 per month.

The maximum an employee or employer will contribute per month at 5% is K1 159.40. The total maximum contribution by both the employee and employer for 2021 is K2 318.80.

The contribution rate remains unchanged at 10% of the employee’s monthly gross earnings subject to the statutory contribution ceiling above.

thank you so much for the reply. With regard to the NAPSA ceiling, it is easy enough to update but i have noticed that in my Bi-weekly company it sometimes calculated the contribution incorrectly, It does not take into account that they sometimes earn more in on f/n than another and will then short deduct on the TOTAL Monthly contribution. Do you perhaps have a complete calculation for NAPSA in a Bi-weekly company? I believe my formula is not complete as it only says earning times 5% and capped amount. Surely the system can look at the entire earnings for the month before calculating the final NAPSA amount, instead of just per period?
