Job Costing Import

SOLVED

Hi All, i have been trying to create a job costing import file for VIP premier.

I created a file from smart reporting but when i try and import the file the same error pops up: D Status 35,000 (file does not exist)

I must been doing something wrong? I tried asking PEG and her answer was very limited. I need something to explain it step by step, from creating the file to saving it in the correct format to importing it.

if anyone can help i will greatly appreciate as it will save me endless hours capturing hours from paper, then excel then payroll. ;(

Hope to hear from anyone soon.

    Morning Madeleine

It sounds as if the file is not being located. (Status 35 - means file not found) Try saving the file into the payroll folder and then doing the import. Should that still pose an issue, please advise on the file name, the payroll drive letter and payroll folder name. If the file was created via SMART reporting, it will be/should be in the correct format. In terms of the steps, there are SMART notes for the macro within the SMART module but do let us know if the above does not work. We can re share the macro notes with you.

    Kind regards, Sandira

    SUGGESTED

    Hi Madeleine,

Have you tried saving the file to the local computer, and what is your filename? It seems as if the system cannot see the location, and this could be related to mapping issues (due to environmental issues, the system location is seen as an UNC location for example \\server\Sage\Payroll, and not the mapped drive allocation e.g. v:\Payroll). This can be viewed on the Sup Help screen where it will show the installation location.

The acceptable file formats are .ASC and ,TXT. I would recommend  that you open your file with Notepad cand compare to see if it looks the same as the attached example.

    D001#12345678001 20150430 00000000000+00000004000+00000125000+00000000000+DEPTJOBCOSTCODE JCSUB JCLEV4JCL5Z

We have also seen that file association might change what the file looks like inside, thus the system cannot read the file.

Should the issue persist, we would recommend that you escalate your inquiry via web form.
