It has been noted that two different OID earning limits were published by the Department of Employment and Labour for the 2023 year (March 2023 - Feb 2024).

• Government gazette 48187 – R568 959

The PAGSA (Payroll Authors Group of SA) requested clarity, from the Fund and the Department of Employment and Labour regarding this.

Although it is still uncertain why two different limits were published, it has now been confirmed that the earnings threshold specified in Gazette No. 48187 is the correct one and must be used for 2023/24

Therefore, the OID earnings limit for 2023/24 is R568 959
