The Employment Equity Amendment Act 4 of 2022 was promulgated on 14 April 2023.

In summary, the following changes will become effective when the official date is announced:
- Employers with fewer than fifty employees will no longer be regarded as designated employers and do not have to submit Employment Equity (EE) reports
- The submission date of the EE reports will no longer be due on the first working day of October but rather a date prescribed by the minister (this will be communicated in a gazette)
- Certain employers will have to comply with sectoral numerical targets
- Possible changes to the EEA2 and EEA4 reports
