Unable to access the Tax year-end Instance: Company xxx must be on Premier 5.7a or 5.7b before you can convert to 5.8a / Company xxx must be on Premier 5.8a before you can convert to 5.8b

The version of a tax year-end instance is determine by the last company which did a "Start new Period" to a new tax year.

In some instances, where multiple software updates were released, the data in the instance might be on an incompatible version e.g. your initial Tax Year-end instance was on Release 5.7b (version during February 2022) and you started a new period in a company after your have already upgraded to 5.8b.

Due to the incompatibility of the data, the data will first need to be converted to a compatible version, before the data can be converted to the current version of the tax year-end instance.

Examples of the errors:

  • Company xxx must be on Premier 5.7a or 5.7b before you convert to 5.8a: Tax Year-end instance is on 5.8a, and tax year end data is on a version below 5.7a.
  • Company xxx must be on Premier 5.8a before you can convert to 5.8b: Tax Year-end instance is on 5.8b, and tax year end data is on a version below 5.8a.

How will I resolve this issue?

If you receive a similar error when accessing your tax year-end instance (Where xxx represents the company name), please submit an online case to Sage Support to assist you with the conversion. In your case, indicate the specific error and company numbers impacted, and that the issue is impacting your Tax Year-end instance.

The technical team will assist with the conversion of data, and you will be notified as soon as the data has been converted.
