Good day Laura. The TERS payment must be processed on its own line, using IRP5 code 3602 for now and then change this code to 3724 once the update comes out with the new code. That line will have no PAYE, UIF or SDL. Hope this helps.

That does not help, as I need assistance in firstly setting up the new line, 

Good day Laura. From the main screen of the company go to Payroll>Definitions>Earning Definitions. At the bottom of the screen click on Change Mode. Find the first open line, and then type TERS. Earning type will be Not Calculated, Never Taxable, Not linked for BCEA or RFI, IRP5 code will be 3602, and not linked for SDL.

And if it is still adding the fixed salary as well? after i removed and zeroed it?

And also, the tax deduction is a negative, now its adding it to the ters payment . Example - Tax on deductions = -R3 000  , TERS Earning = R15 000 NETT shows R17000??

Hi Laura. If you are still paying the employees a salary over and above the TERS payment, that value will still be reported on the normal salary or wage line. If you are only making the TERS payment, the salary line should be zero. So the Earnings should then only show what you are actually paying the employees.

If your company is set to use the average tax calculation, if an employees receives a reduced salary or no salary in a period, it might result in a tax refund. Should you not want to give this refund to the employees, you need to Route To the TAX screen, and untick the average tax calculation so that the system does not refund tax. Once the employee returns to normal pay again, you can tick the average tax box again.
