President Cyril Ramaphosa declares 27 December 2022 as a public holiday for South Africa.

What you need to do on South African payrolls:
Payroll without the Leave Module:
- Print your Leave Report to determine which employees have leave days taken
- If you captured any leave days that include 27 December 2022 on the leave days screen, you can amend the 'Taken' value by reducing it with 1 day
- Print your Leave Report to confirm the days taken is correct after changes
Payroll with the Leave Module only
- Print your Leave Report and Leave Transaction report to include all transactions with 27 December 2022 on Payroll
- Update your Leave Calendar to include 27 December 2022 as a Public Holiday.
- Amend the existing transaction by either changing the leave 'Days Taken' on the transaction, or deleting and recapturing the leave transaction for the same dates
- Take note: There are no global functions to amend existing leave transactions
- Print your Leave Report and Leave Transaction report to include all transactions with 27 December 2022 on Payroll to confirm the changes were applied correctly
Payroll with the Leave Module and Sage Self Service
- Print your Leave Report and Leave Transaction report to include all transactions with 27 December 2022 on Payroll
- Update your Leave Calendar to include 27 December 2022 as a Public Holiday.
- Upload the Public holiday days on Self Service System Setup
- Take note: There are no global functions available to amend existing leave transactions on Payroll or Self Service
- How to amend the leave transactions:
- If you require the transaction to reflect correctly on Self Service and Payroll:
- Close the approved leave transaction posted from Sage Self Service to Payroll
- Take note: This process will not update the transaction in Payroll, and the transaction will need to be cancelled manually in Payroll
- Cancel the transaction in Payroll, which will credit any days taken
- Capture the transaction again on Self Service (which will exclude 27 December 2022 as a normal leave day), which will follow the standard approval process, and will need to be posted to payroll by the Administrator to Payroll
- Synchronise the transactions from Self Service to Payroll
- If you require to correct the transaction on Payroll only:
- Take note: This option will result in a difference between the days taken on Self Service and Payroll, however the leave balance will be correct
- Cancel or Change the transaction in Payroll, which will credit any days taken
- If you cancelled the transaction, recapture the transaction manually on the Leave Days screen
- Synchronise the transactions and balance Payroll to Self Service
- If you require the transaction to reflect correctly on Self Service and Payroll:
- Print your Leave Report and Leave Transaction report to include all transactions with 27 December 2022 on Payroll to confirm the changes were applied correctly
