The ETI Validation Tool allows you to download the ETI history of the current tax year, and run recalculation to review your current calculated values based on the values saved in the payroll.

We are aware of an reported issue where the ETI Validation Tool file opens a new Excel worksheet when clicking Enable Editing in Protected View.

You are not able to run the option to recalculate or create import files.

The issue is related to recent changes made by Microsoft on security of files downloaded from the Internet, and not related to the payroll application or feature.

How do I resolve this issue?

There is unfortunately no permanent solution to this issue as this is linked to a recent Microsoft security change, and the following work-around options are suggested to resolve:

• Unblock the file
  • The file is downloaded from the internet, thus flagged to come fom another location
  • Locate the file in the selected download folder
  • Right-click on the file, and select Properties
  • Select to unblock the file in the section "Security: This file came from another computer and might be block to protect the computer" as hightlighted in the example below

• Change Trust Centre settings
  • Access your Excel Trust Centre Settings (Options > Trust Centre > Trust Centre Settings)
  • Select Trusted Locations
  • Add the locations where you save your files download from the Sage Business Cloud Payroll Professional
  • Note: It is recommended not to add your Downloads folder, but another folder where you move your Sage Business Cloud Payroll Professional  files once downloaded
