Please take note of the following due to the previous release of new tax tables, effective 1 August 2019, for the 2019 Tax year:
The Zimbabwe Revenue Authority(ZIMRA) has confirmed that employers should submit two separate ITF16 Annual Returns for the 2019 tax year as follows:
- For the period January to July 2019
- For the period August to December 2019
Although ZIMRA did not explicitly say that the employees should be issued with two tax certificates, the assumption is that each employee should receive two tax certificates. This is because an employee’s P6 has a serial number which should correspond with the serial number of that employee’s record on the ITF16.
The deadline for submission of the 2019 ITF16 is 31 January 2020.
