Pastel Payroll slow performance on network clients

SUGGESTED

Hi

I have a client that has Payroll installed and running on a Windows 10 based "server". They have 2 client desktops who are experiencing very poor performance. For example if they are processing a payslip and type in the amount of hours and press enter/tab then the client hangs for around 5 to 10 seconds before letting them do the next thing.

I have taken a look at all the common reasons:

  • Antivirus - Uninstalled with no change so reinstalled. Exceptions were also added
  • Shared folder permissions - All permissions correct
  • Network setup - Gigabit Networking
  • TCP/IP V6 - Disabled
  • Pervasive Gateway - Set gateway to local client on each one.

None of these has made any difference. I have looked at every resource I could find online and haven't been able to find a solution.

When accessing the companies directly on the server there is no problem.

Thank you,

    Hello Lynton

Please make sure you have the same pervasive version on all machines, if the server has V13 all workstations must have the same.

Please click Use Cache Engine on Pcc

    • Open PCC
    • Please select Configure Microkernel Router
    • Then under Performance tuning, please click on use Cache Engine
