Working from home and other challenges

Dear Sage Community,

Working from home has its challenges. Should you still need to work from home at this point, you only have a few options available.

  1. Work as a single user
  2. Use RDP to have your users access the "Server" machine remotely (This will require you to have the necessary licenses which carry a cost)
  3. Use VPN to gain access o the company network. (This will require you to have the necessary licenses which carry a cost)
  4. Rent a VM from a hosting company and have them setup everything for you (This carries a cost as you will be paying to use the VM) Contact Sales for assistance.

To install, register and add the companies CLICK HERE.

If you have multiple users running as a single user you will require a site license (Contact sales for assistance 011 304 3650).

If you are using a site license, please remember that you are accessing the company dataset for your local drive. This means that anything you do is only updated on your PC. If more than one person needs to access or work in the same company, you will need to take turns to work on the data and send backups of the changes back and forth.

Should you be getting errors CLICK HERE for step by step guides to assist you.

Hi, does this license you mean extra charges from sage or the license from network service provider to upgrade for VPN.

    Kindly request your clarity.

    Thanks & Regards

    Good Morning Ally,

Setting up a VPN is not a free service and you would need to speak to your IT Tech's about the cost and the security of running a live dataset over the internet. While you can use VPN to run your Pastel software. I would advise you rather invest in the RDP option as this is a better option and the event of you getting data corruption is lower.

    Kind Regards
