Sales order change layout when loosing connection

The Sales order descriptions change back to defaults when the user looses connection to the server. Please see the attached image to see what I'm talking about.

I have made a backup of the users settings in the Registry on the local computer and when this happen import the correct Registry settings to no avail.

Please help anyone with a solution to fix this or a way to set it back as it is suppose to be. This happens quite often lately

It is the custom grid columns layout that change. It happens in credit notes as well

    Hi Roelf

Are you on a LAN or some kind of remote connection e.g. RDP connection?

When did you observe this started to happen? Perhaps after some kind of recent change on the network? E.g. upgrade, server change etc?

    Kind Regards

    Hi Bennie

We connect to the head office via a VPN Connection. It is been on going for some time already but it seems to be increasing lately. Lately it can happen about 3 to 4 per day and it is quite frustrating. It also happen on the LAN connection at the Head Office as well but not that often though.

They have evolution installed on their computers remotely basically they connect to the SQL database on the server via the VPN connection. There is a registry entry on the local computers which keep the agents preferences. But even if I removed the key from the registry and replace it with a backup I have made from the registry key it still is not correct and they lay out still show the default selection. I have also tried it on the server side.

I also tried  a RDP connection and Anydesk connection, but it seems to be doing the same.

I have called Sage Support with out a resolution yet.

Any Ideas how I can get it resolved or maybe a work around?

    Hi Roelf

    Thanks for the detailed explanation

    PREVENTION:

First ask why "the user looses connection to the server"

IS there some kind of factors causing an unstable LAN that needs to be looked at/fixed?

    CURE:

I think the best way forward at this stage is to view the local PC's Registry Editor with suspicion to the extent of it simply being unstable.

Therefore, please get hold of a decent Registry Cleaner and run it on the local PC's (on which Evolution is installed) to clear up any issues that cause the instability in the first place.

As you know, the Registry stores all settings with regards to local user settings such as selected  report/document layouts, grid columns etc.

Does that make sense to you?
