  • Hello Bennie,

I have followed the attached procedure, yet it brings about the same error, any advice?

  • in reply to Sharon Koech

    Hi Sharon

The only other advice I can offer is the following:

Ensure that the centrally shared Repository folder (e.g. C:\EvBICMetadata) is fully shared: Give all relevant Windows users (for all evolution agents)  full Read and Write access on this folder.

    My pleasure, Sharon

Is it working now? Slight smile

  • Hi Bennie or anyone willing to help

    Error

Insufficient user rights to Sage Intelligence Reporting
    repository.
    Path : '\\SERVERNAME\BICMetaData'.

The BICMetadata is in the C:\  (Root directory)

All of a sudden I am getting this error on my clients Server with every workstation logon to Sage Evolution 200. Just my Luck on a Sunday afternoon. I didn't touch the Permissions on anything Sage Related just cleaned out some insecure shares. Would an Evolution repair fix these permissions back to uncorrupted or default.? I have an Iron Tree Backup from Friday Night of that EvoBIC Folder, would restoring it bring the permissions back or should I just reset the permissions again?

  • in reply to Dean Brewer

    Hi Dean

I would say that simply resetting the permissions should suffice.

Of course, ensure that all relevant Windows accounts on the Evolution network have full and unfettered access (Read and Write) to the centrally shared \\SERVERNAME\BICMetaData folder.

Please let me know if you still require any further assistance.

Thanks for the quick response Bennie. It seems like the problem was available, I just couldn't find it. Was I searching in the wrong place or for the wrong string? Just for the record I spoke to Thompson who sent me this article ==> Sage Intelligence Reporting Insufficient user rights to Sage Intelligence Reporting repository’ error when opening a company. Turned out to be an easy fix

    3. Open the EvoBICMetaData folder and locate the tempFile.tmp file.
    4. Delete the tempFile.tmp
    5. Open the Evolution company again and the above error and issue should be resolved

Maybe this will help someone else like me

    Rgds
