Special Customer Pricing

Hi there,

Is there an easy way to set up special pricing for customer? We've got a situation where many of our customers have special pricing on selected items. It's not a fixed % discount across all items, so I don't know if the discount matrix helps us at all.

The system seems to be able to give % discounts, but not allow a person to set specific prices.

Thanks,

Emil

    Hi Emil

Sorry, I just have to ensure the following first:

With the Discount Matrix module you can make use of Inventory Item Groups to make up the Item/Custome

Have you perhaps considered doing that? Because that means not all items have to be included in the item/customer combinations as per your requirement, correct?

    Kind Regards

    Hi Bennie,

Appreciate the reply. I've tried it all, and it either does not work the way I would like to, or the process to set it up is extremely tedious and will take forever to set up. I've also thought to possibly import a price list per customer. But this will result in millions of lines of items to update when it comes to things like price increases.

The reason I can also not use inventory groups or categories, is that a customer might receive different prices within a group, and not just a % discount for the whole group.

You are able to set specific pricing per item in the "volume discount contracts" under customers, but again, this is an extremely tedious process and does not allow for lists to be imported.

I've searched for additional Evo addon modules, or 3rd party software to perhaps solve the problem, but have not been successful in finding anything.

    Anything else you can recommend?

    Kind regards,

    Emil

    Hi Emil

Noted and thanks for the detailed response.

What if it is possible to easily update/import current customer pricing per item?

Click here for a detailed article on how to accomplish it.

The idea is that you will have specific Price Lists linked to your customers.

And when prices need to be changed, you update that in MS Excel and simply import the new prices per Price List, using the abovementioned article.

    Hi Bennie,

    Thank you for the information!

I am familiar with the import procedure as I use it to update our main price list.

Are you suggesting a separate price list for each customer (there are a few hundred) that has special pricing, even if it is just 1 item on an inventory list of say 4000 items? And then link that price list to each specific customer in their profile?

    Kind regards,

    Emil

    Hi Emil

Please consider the following advice still part of exploring your options and not necessarily a final answer/solution:

Special Pricing per specific Customer/Inventory Item combinations is only possible by making use of the Volume Discount Contracts, or Discount Matrix features.

But if you're not interested in using these features, then the only other avenue is to make use of Price Lists Names linked to your customers. And at least any new updated prices can be imported (as explained in my previous post)

So, just to confirm: What avenue do you want to follow when it comes to Item Pricing?

    Kind Regards

    Hi there Bennie,

Thank you again for the info & direction. I've decided to do as you mentioned above and pull in a special price list linked to a specific customer. It's going to be quite a job in the beginning, but after that it will hopefully be easily maintained with the price update batches for any price increases, and importing for any changes or additions.

    Appreciate your assistance!

    Kind regards,

    Emil
