Voucher Management Error

SUGGESTED

I have these errors in the Voucher Management module whenever I try to create a Customer/Supplier/General Ledger Voucher, Print a Customer/Supplier/General Ledger Voucher and also in the Voucher Management Defaults UI as attached hereunder.

I have uninstalled my antivirus on the PC and also used another PC without an Anti-Virus yet these errors persist.

Please what do I need to do to fix these errors?

    Good Morning Alex

Please note the following query that I logged with Evolution Development yesterday after having a detailed discussion with another Evolution client having the same VM error as yourself:

Please assist with the following query:

The following error message is displayed in Voucher Management when clicking on any dropdown in any kind of transaction screen

We made sure that the .NetFramework option for 3.5 and ASP.Net 4.8 is selected in the Control Panel | Turn Windows Features on or of screen

    Please also note the following:

The BP created a non-Microsoft user account on his client's workstations where the above error is displayed, and doing that resolved the error.

However, the same error is also observed on the BP's own laptop and even after he applied the same 'work around' the same error still persists on his PC's VM transaction screen.

There are two ways to create a user account on a Windows PC. One way is to create a non-Microsoft Windows user account, and that is described in the attached document called 'Creating a non-Microsoft Windows user account'

    Creating a non-Microsoft Windows user account.docx

So the questions to be answered:

    1) What can cause the above error?

    2) Why is working with a non-Microsoft user account resolving the error on at least the BP's client's workstations?

    3) Could it perhaps be due to certain security measures that Microsoft type Windows user accounts apply and that somehow affects VM?

And using a non-Microsoft type Windows user account is not applying the same security measures/policy?

NOTE that this error is not due to a defect as its working fine on my PC and others.

This query is a combination between Evolution and the local PC / environment.

I have two separate clients' queries with the same error in Evo ver 11

    Good Morning Bennie,

Thank you for the good work you are doing to resolve this issue. God bless you!

Out of curiosity I also created a Local Account but the story is not different from what it has been.

    Expectantly waiting for favorable feedback.

    Blessings!

    Hi Alex

Yes, bless you and your loved ones too! Slight smile

Can you please try the following:

    1. Close Evolution.

    2. Go to the installed Evolution folder e.g. C:\Program Files (x86)\Sage Evolution

    3. In here find the VM folder and then give it full share rights: Read and Full Write access for all users and even add your own normal Windows account also as a user with these rights

    4. Now open the Evolution company and test if there is any improvements?

Please update me on this chat.

    Hi Bennie,

I have done as instructed but there is no improvement

I'm currently still awaiting feedback from Evo Dev on my latest query to them as mentioned above

    Please also confirm:

In what country are your company and where you're staying?

My other client with the same query is working for a BP called ESN'B (Pty) Ltd

    Hi Alex

I so wish I had any solution for you

We're currently still working on exactly the same error as logged by a Business Partner called ESN'B (Pty) Ltd for their client in Kenya.

And not even Evolution Development is able to provide a solution for us.

The current hypothesis is that this type of VM error can only be local PC in one way or another.

This error is by no means due to a software bug and the bigger PC /domain/network are the only probable causes/factors for it.

If I may ask, where is your offices? In which country/city?

    Hi Alex

I received an e-mail alert from someone who made the following suggestion to resolve this matter (not sure who it was???)

    Hello guys,

Try this solution if you may.

Remove tick from .NET Framework 3.5 and .NET Framework 4.8 including their subfolders. Reboot PC.

Then go back and select all of them again so they get reinstalled. Reboot PC.

    Check if problem is solved.

Please let me know if doing the above resolves your query or not???

    Hi Bennie,

I wish we can have a solution for this lingering problem.

Our offices are in Abuja, Kaduna, Kano and Katsina states all in Nigeria.

    Hi Bennie,

This also didn't resolve the issue!

    Thanks Alex

The search for a solution is still ongoing..

I'm still working on the same error message query of another BP of ours.

I'm currently awaiting feedback from them and I will keep you updated as soon as I get any constructive feedback of course.

    Blessings

    Hi Alex

It's been a while but I just first want to say (even a bit late) Happy new Year

Have you perhaps been able yet to resolve this query?

  • 0 in reply to Bennie Pienaar

    Hi Bennie,

The search for a solution is still ongoing without any success on our part so far. Have you been able to resolve this issue? This issue is really affecting our productivity and by extension our business, and we may NOT be able to renew our license at its expiration. We are thinking of moving to another solution unfortunately.

We are unable to narrow down this issue to a particular reason. Its behavior is erratic because even on workstations with Evolution software/hardware requirements, we still have this issue. We have implemented ALL your recommendations/instructions all without success.

    Blessings!

    Alex

    Hi Alex

    I get you.

Please give me a day or two to formally respond to you on this query.

I need to investigate a bit further myself and perhaps even also chat to Evolution Development about this matter.

    Chat soon

    Bennie

    Hi Bennie,

    Thanks for your prompt response.

It's possible that you're unaware, but I've recommended and installed Sage 200 Evolution to more than 5 companies, and this problem has been causing me significant distress since its installation. I had to provide them with our conversation to convince them of the difficulties I've been facing.

The Voucher Management Module is heavily utilized here, but unfortunately, it's the only module that's not functioning properly. In addition, we are unable to add user-defined fields to the module, as we previously discussed. It's concerning that the license will expire around September, and we haven't received any return on our investment.

Please what's the update on User definable fields in Payment/Receipt/GL Voucher screen/UI?

    Remain blessed!

    Alex

    Hi Alex

I discovered the following about your VM query:

'Fortunately' I'm observing the same error Slight smile That means testing and troubleshooting is so much easier now.

    Please confirm the following:

    1. Sage Evolution version of your client with the VM error?

    2. On your client's PC (where the error is observed), go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Sage Evolution\VM

In here, how many files and folders are there?

    Hi Bennie,

    Sorry for the late reply.
