ERROR DURING SYSTEM TREE LOAD! [TBRILLIANT PACKAGE MANAGER ERROR.E01]

SOLVED

Good Afternoon

I am faced with an error suddenly when opening SAGE 200 premium. The error reads as follows :

ERROR DURING SYSTEM TREE LOAD!

[TBRILLIANT PACKAGE MANAGER ERROR.E01]

A network-related or instance-specific error occured while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider:SQL Network Interfaces, error"26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified)

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling on the desktop but get the same error. When i try to locate the company it locates the SQL Server and company and the company appears on the list

    Hi there

Using port query, I have verified tcp port 1433 is open :

    =============================================

    Starting portqry.exe -n xxx.xxx.xxx.x -e 1433 -p TCP ...

    Querying target system called:

    xxx.xxx.xxx.x

Attempting to resolve IP address to a name...

    IP address resolved to xxxx.xxxxx.COM

    querying...

TCP port 1433 (ms-sql-s service): LISTENING
    portqry.exe -n xxx.xxx.xxx.x -e 1433 -p TCP exits with return code 0x00000000.

I have also tested the SQL Connection UPD port 1434 and have the following after running port query :

    =============================================

    Starting portqry.exe -n xxx.xxx.xxx.x -e 1434 -p UDP ...

    Querying target system called:

    xxx.xxx.xxx.x

Attempting to resolve IP address to a name...

    IP address resolved to xxxxx.xxxxx.COM

    querying...

UDP port 1434 (ms-sql-m service): LISTENING or FILTERED

Sending SQL Server query to UDP port 1434...

    Server's response:

    ServerName xxxxx
    InstanceName SQLEXPRESS
    IsClustered No
    Version 14.0.1000.169
    tcp 1433
    np \\xxxx\pipe\MSSQL$SQLEXPRESS\sql\query

==== End of SQL Server query response ====

    UDP port 1434 is LISTENING
    portqry.exe -n xxx.xxx.xxx.x -e 1434 -p UDP exits with return code 0x00000000.

With all this in place, when i try to access evolution via the remote pc, it gets stuck at @ loading add-ins

Hi Moe Sorry for the late response on your query

At this stage are you able at least to connect and open MS SQL Management Studio on the same SQL instance on which your Evolution company is located on?

Also, please consider the article I found on the old Online KB. I realise the wording in your message is a bit different but please at least check out the advice provided in this article:

    kb.pastel.co.za/article.php

    Kind regards

    Good Morning Bennie

I am able to open MS SQL Management Studio on the same SQL instance. When i try to locate the company via evolution remotely, the following happens :

    1. If i use an IP address\SQLEXPRESS i get connection open error, server does not exist or access denied

    2. If i use the servername\SQLEXPRESS i get an error unable to connect to server XX\SQLEXPRESS, reason "login failed for use 'sa'

    * case 1, all ports are open and verified via portqry

    * case 2, if i use the same password to login via management studio i am able to login in to sqlexpress database object, so the password is DEFINITELY correct

    Regards

    Hi Mohammed

Please implement  the following (if not done already so)

Open the link below to access a detailed Evolution configuration guide (as found on the new Sage Online KB),  that needs to be implemented after MS SQL has been installed.

The name of the KBA is called:

Evolution Network: Sage Evolution Network and Workstation Configurations after MS SQL has been installed

    and can be found here

    https://za-kb.sage.com/portal/app/portlets/results/viewsolution.jsp?solutionid=200324121432309&page=1&position=1&q=EVOLUTION%20NETWORK%20AND%20WORKSTATION%20CONFIGURATIONS%20AFTER%20MS%20SQL%20HAS%20BEEN%20INSTALLED&searchaliases=custom_za_en_twohundredevo;&guest=0

You will be requested to Sign Up if you haven't done so yet but the process is very quick and easy

Finally, please also note the guide explains the instructions on setting up at least 4 ports on the server's and workstations' Firewall, allowing the correct network protocols and a couple other important settings.

If after you confirmed all is in place and still observe the above error, please feel free to contact me again and we'll fix it for you Slight smile

    Kind Regards

These are errors I am getting I am trying to log into Sage 200

  • 0 in reply to ADANDA02

    Good Morning

Please help me to better understand your query and work on a solution by answering the following:

    1. Sage Evolution version and build?

    2. When exactly is the error message below observed? E. opening company, processing etc?

    3. Please send me a screenshot of the error message

    Did receive, thanks

    4. How regular is this error observed per user? Each time the occurrence in 2. above? Or perhaps randomly?

    5. Was it working fine before?

    6. If yes on 5) above, what recently changed on your network, e.g. recent Evolution upgrade, change of Evolution server, any network changes whatsoever?

    7. What happens exactly after the error is observed? E.g. Evolution closes or if clicking OK the user can continue etc.?

    8. Have you already uninstalled and re-installed Evolution on the problematic workstation/s?

    9. Operating System version of the workstation?

    10. Please send me a screenshot of one of the affected workstation’s Computer (or My Computer) Properties screen.

    11. Is the error observed on all Evolution companies? Even on a newly created demo company as well at the client’s site?

    12. Are all users on the network observing the same error on their PC’s? If unsure, please test on the other workstations while logging on as the specific PC’s own agent.

    13. Are there any third party applications that integrate into the Evolution company?

    Kind Regards

    Bennie

    ver 10.1.3.9

The error is observed when opening the company

It was working before. It started mid December 2022

    Other machines are working

After the error the system tree will not load and it will be a shell of system

server operating system is Windows Server 2012

Client operating system Windows 10 Pro

Even if we open another company on that machine

any user who opens using that machine face the same challenge

    No third party applications
