Is there a way to post a rebate (deposit to an expense account) rather than an income account? I received a utility expense refund for over payment and it needs to be posted to my utility expense account. I would prefer not to post a journal entry. Right now my only option is the default of posting to an income account and then preparing a journal entry to post to the utility expense account. Can anyone help on how to post a deposit/cash receipt in my bank activity directly to an expense account?.
