work order # on production tracking does not match work order # on line

SOLVED

We have encountered today a very strange issue have never seen.  We created, completed 4 work orders- 3 of same product.  The first one was fine.  The second and third were completed however it appears the work order numbers are out of sync.   Meaning the work order on the header on production tracking screen is not the correct one but the mfg on the line is.   This has happened for the second and third and the last work order number, which hasn't been received yet is already received on the prior work orders production tracking number but the last work order is a different product.   It appears I can still select the work order to receive product but do not understand why the incorrect work order can display on the header but the line is correct.

hope this makes sense.  I wouldn't even know how to duplicate as have never seen before.   The screen below is small but it displsys MFG4302 in header, but MFG4269 on line which is the correct work order number for this production tracking.

MFG4302 is a different product still need to receive.   Is there a utility that can be run to resync the work orders?

hope someone can help me out with this one

thanks

Christine

    Hi

When using production plan to track several WOs in a single entry, you can create a single tracking document impacting several work orders. In that case, the header displays no work order number. I have no clue how you end up is this abnormal situation.

    but the line is correct.

If the information in the line is correct, did you check if you have negative impacts on the production flow: Is the traceability correct? Is the quantity remaining to produce correct? Is the quantity tracked correct? Is the WO cost correct?...

You need to understand the exact impacts to define how to fix this situtation. With some lucks, you may have nothing to fix.

Thanks Julien- I did not try to duplicate the issue yet but what I did was modify the WO# in the table so the transaction matches what is on the line.  We do not receive multiple work orders to one production tracking.  I believe this to be isolated incident as had never seen before and hopefully never again.  The costing and other data appears correct.   thanks again, Christine
