HELP!

I am using Timeslips 2014 and I have several clients who have multiple matters.  Does this software provide a way to enter multiple matters into each individual client's billing slips?  Where do I go to get instructions on setting it up, inputting slips for each matter, generating bills, etc.?

What you are asking is too broad to fully answer in a forum, it really gets into training. I can however give you some starting points. You can read in the help and then possibly move forward.

There are two ways to approach multiple matters in Timeslips - client.project and references.

With Client.Project you are creating separate matters. Each has own AR balance, own trust account and billing arrangements. When you generate bills you can create a consolidated bill for all the connected projects within the client.

References are breakouts within a client. You have one AR, one trust arrangement and one billing arrangement. When you run the invoice you can total by Reference but when you receive payment it just goes to the invoice, not the specific reference.

Hope this helps start you in the right direction.

I will echo Caren's comments previously, and offer the following.  Often, the best way to figure out how to set them up is to ask two questions:  How are you going to bill the matters? And how is the client going to pay you for them?

If you want to bill them separately (each gets their own invoice) and the client is going to pay your for each individual one separately, then you want to use Client.Project.  Maybe with consolidated billing, maybe not.

If you want to send them one big  invoice with all of the matters subtotaled within it, and they are going to pay you with one check for all of them at the same time, then References.

    Hope this helps.
