Is there a way to print a global list of all contacts and their contact information and show which client/matter they are associated with?

I need to print a list of all contacts along with their contact information.  I'd like for the report to also show what client/matter each contact is associated with.  This is not the same as printing a report for the client's contact information ("Contact Info" tab).  This is the contacts added under "Information" and then "Contacts" in a matter.

  • Pretty sure the Contact Listing report on the Client tab under Reports will show you the name and which client(s) they are associated with.

To try it, go to: (from the topmost menus) Reports, Client tab, find Contact Listing and print to display to see if that is what you want.

It does, but it doesn't show the actual information (address, phone number, email, etc.) for the contact. It only shows the contact's name.

  • Also, what is it you are trying to do/accomplish with the report when you are done? That might affect my answer as to the best way to produce it. (Not always, but sometimes.... :-)

We are going to be using case management software and I was hoping there was an easy way to print all the data in one document in order to put it into the new software without having to go into each matter and print it all separately.

Right, so you really need to export the Contact information, import it into your case management software and then use the report to just link those contacts to the Files.  If you are keying them by hand from a print out, you are working too hard!!!

Which product are you moving to? Do you have a consultant helping you?

Well, I said that, and then I went to do some testing and don't see a way to export the address/phone for a Contact that is not a Client Contact.

Do you have a lot of these?  Must Timeslips users don't use the Contacts feature, and it is sort of newer on the evolutionary spectrum.

We have a migration specialist, but they weren't aware of any way to export that specific data and asked if I could reach out to Sage.

Yes.  It's where we put all of our contact information. We have 2019 Sage Premium.  Build: 28.0.0.41.

Yeah, I'm not seeing a way to do that in that version, but since it is a SQL database, you might be able to get someone more savvy with SQL than I to go "under the hood" and get it for you.
